About MON
Monad is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain designed to process transactions in parallel for much greater throughput while remaining compatible with existing Ethereum-style applications. Its token is MON.
Monad was founded by Keone Hon, a former Jump Trading engineer, along with a team of engineers focused on high-frequency systems, building a blockchain designed to be fully compatible with Ethereum while dramatically increasing transaction throughput.
Monad achieves high performance through parallel transaction execution, pipelined consensus, and custom database engineering, while remaining bytecode-compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, meaning existing Ethereum applications can deploy on Monad largely unchanged. This targets the long-standing tradeoff between Ethereum compatibility and raw speed.
MON is intended to pay transaction fees and secure the Monad network through staking, following the standard role of a layer-1 gas and security token, with its value tied to adoption of the chain by developers seeking Ethereum compatibility at higher throughput.
