Telcoin is a project aiming to bring mobile money and remittance services to telecom customers worldwide, using blockchain rails to make cross-border transfers cheaper and faster. Its token is TEL.
Telcoin was founded by Claude Eguienta and Paul Neuner, launching in 2018 with a mission to bring low-cost remittances to mobile phone users worldwide by partnering directly with telecom operators, particularly in emerging markets.
Telcoin has built its own regulated digital bank and blockchain network aimed at letting users send money across borders far more cheaply than traditional remittance services, working to obtain banking and money-transmission licenses in various jurisdictions to operate legally.
