About ONDO
Ondo is a platform focused on bringing traditional financial products, such as US Treasuries, onto the blockchain as tokenized assets. Its native token, ONDO, is used for governance over the protocol.
Ondo Finance was founded in 2021 by Nathan Allman and Pinku Surana, both formerly of Goldman Sachs digital assets, with a focus on bringing institutional-grade financial products on-chain. It became the best-known name in the tokenized real-world asset movement.
Ondo issues tokenized products backed by traditional assets, most prominently short-term US Treasuries through products like OUSG and USDY, structured with regulated custodians and fund administrators. The protocol also develops Ondo Chain and Global Markets, aiming to bring tokenized stocks and bonds to on-chain investors worldwide.
ONDO is the governance token of the Ondo ecosystem, giving holders a vote in the protocol's direction through the Ondo DAO. Its market value is widely treated as a proxy for the growth of tokenized real-world assets as a category, one of the strongest institutional narratives in crypto.
